Gloriana's Scholarship Program

Gloriana Musical Theatre is pleased to offer scholarships to eligible graduating seniors from Fort Bragg High School, Mendocino High School, Mendocino Community School, Gloriana Carolers Mendocino Academy, and Noyo High School.

Scholarships are awarded to students who have demonstrated excellence in the performing arts and plan to continue in these studies. Each grant is no less than $500 and no greater than $1000 depending upon the number of awardees, as determined by the scholarship committee.

Past recipients include Jaspar Hedges, Nicolas (Bubba) Tringale, Kim Bratton, Lavender Grace, Sax Eno, Cayenne Harris, and Justine Lemos. Jaspar studied dance at The California Institute of Fine Arts. Bubba is currently attending Humboldt State and has performed in music department opera productions. Kim is currently the Mendocino Unified Schools Choral Director. Lavender first starred in Gloriana's Peter Pan in 1988 and, after performing in the bay area has returned to the coast and was a lead in Gloriana's Kiss Me Kate, sang in Gloriana's "Toast of Broadway", and performs regularly in this area. Sax Eno graduated from Chatman University Gloriana Carolers in film and is currently Executive Producer for "Trading Spouses" in Los Angeles. Cayenne Harris is a Department Manager for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.

Interested students should contact their school counselor to apply. Counselors should forward the students’ completed applications by the due date on each given year’s scholarship announcement.

Applications should include:

  1. At least one letter of recommendation from professional(s) in the Performing Arts field.
  2. Home address, phone number, and email
  3. Maximum two page essay (spellchecked) explaining:
    1. prior participation in performing arts;
    2. Why it is important to the student to continue in this field;
    3. How the student plans to use the scholarship money.
    4. Evidence of financial need.
