Friday, July 5th, 5-8 pm and Saturday July 6th, 10am-12pm at Eagles Hall in Fort Bragg.
Please prepare a song that shows your range.
Please bring a headshot
Please prepare a 1 minute monologue and show the choreographer you can move
You must note all conflicts for rehearsals on your audition form
You must be available for all rehearsals during the last two weeks before opening night
You must be available for all performances
PLOT: Rosie, the sassiest kid on her block of Brooklyn’s Avenue P, entertains herself and her friends by acting out showbiz fantasies, notably directing and starring in an Oscar-winning movie. The musical is based on Sendak's books Chicken Soup with Rice, Pierre, One was Johnny, Alligators All Around (which comprise 1962's The Nutshell Library), and The Sign on Rosie's Door (1960). CASTING: Girls and Boys ages 10 - 13.
PERFORMANCES: October 4 - 20. Performances on Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 and Sunday matinees at 3:00. 9 performances.
ROSIE - Bossy ten year old girl who plans to direct the movie "Did You Hear what Happened to Chicken Soup?"
KATHY - Rosie's sidekick and secretary who longs for her chance in the spotlight
PIERRE - doesn't care and has a major attitude
JOHNNY - Shy and A Bit Nerdy
ALLIGATOR - Kathy's brother who actually belives he is an alligator
CHICKEN SOUP - Rosie's brother who runs away
OTHER ROLES - Rosie, Johnny and Kathy's Mothers and a small chorus of neighborhood kids
